Hyderabad: City NGO helps over 1,700 providing relief ration kits

Hyderabad: Centre for Action Research and People’s Development (CARPED) with the support of individual and philanthropist institutions has provided Covid- 19 Relief ration kits to 1700 people affected by loss of livelihoods due to lockdown. People facing severe poverty, food insecurity and debts were identified for immediate relief in the form of ration kits and hygiene materials (rice, dal, oil, flour/atta, upma ravva, pickle, soaps etc).
Local elected representatives and leaders like Rashtra Cheneta Jana Samakhya, forum of Basti Vikas Manch, and Resident Welfare Associations participated in the relief programme.
Journalist Durgam Ravinder, Macharla Mohan Rao, activist Kasturi Rangan, CARPED staff helped build community solidarity and distributed the relief kits during past five days in varied locations of Hyderabad, Pochampally and Chirala regions.
